The Excelsior Springs Standard The Excelsior Springs Standard is a community newspaper which has been in operation since 1889. Though it has been through many changes in its 110-year history, it has been consistently dedicated not only to delivering the local news to local residents and interested visitors, but also to promoting the community. Currently, the Standard is published every Tuesday and Friday, except holidays, at which time it is published the day before or the day after.
